Thinking Less of You Know Who
I probably couldn't think less of Bush, but my health demands that I try.
One must be mindful of one's health. To that end, Bush should come with a warning label -- for migraines, stroke, apoplexy, hives, nausea, possibly even spontaneous hemorrhage. Or hemorrhoids.
I'll turn from Bush for a while (or maybe forever, if I have the self-discipline) and write about a more cheerful subject: the hope for civilization held out by the possibility of "the end of faith." See today (October 6's) post, in which I recommend Sam Harris's 2004 book of that title.
I just read your post, which poses a great deal of food for thought. Admittedly, I don't understand Islam. When one thinks of Islam, one tends to think of wild-eyed fanatics. I should absolutely read the book.
On a more personal note, I gather that you're somewhere in the Raleigh-Durham area. I hope you're not affected by the chemical fire burning in Apex.
