Moristotle's 66th-birthday pie
My wife created this wonder using as the base recipe Epicurious's recipe for "Harvest Tart." She modified the fruit by adding some that was fresh, and she added some Grand Marnier to make the pie less dry than last year's was. This might not have been necessary, for last year's pie contained only dried fruit. But I'm sure the Grand Marnier made the pie all the more delightful.

Okay, I see the piece you ate, will Carolyn get a piece also?
ReplyDeleteSteve
<grin> Actually, that portion served Carolyn and Moristotle and our two neighboring fellow "Obamanites" (as one of them greeted us on November 5). And I may have to share some more of it with Keith S and his wife tomorrow night <frown>.
ReplyDeleteI hope Keith isn't reading this <smile>. [Just kidding, Keith.]
To Keith (and Ms. Keith), if you do read this: Great sharing the pie with you last night. Our 1.25" slices were about right after that pasta meal at Pomodoro's Italian Kitchen! Glad you liked my coffee, too!
ReplyDeleteBut the hearty belly laughs we enjoyed watching "Little Britain Abroad" and "Little Britain Live" were the best of all. Matt Lucas and David Walliams are famously talented and rude. I liked your comment: "Monthy Python to the nth degree."
