  1. At first glance, I felt troubled and sad. But then I felt a deeper connection, something pulled me to the white and gray figure in the background. Enjoyed the paining very much, Susan.

While the name “Morris” in the artist’s notes startled me, I soon recovered, remembering meeting her father during the summer of 1966, not long after I was married and took my wife on a trip to San Diego to visit my sister Patsy and my college friend Jon Price and his family. Jon’s (and his sister’s) father was introduced to us as Morris Price.

  3. Another journey through art to a time when I worked in the bootheel of Missouri chopping cotton for a dollar an hour. Never did get it down right. Couldn't figure out the difference between the weed and the plant. For some reason, the portraits were people who shared that time with me.
