“Money is like the birds in a migrating flock. It will follow because it knows they know where they are going.” —Anonymous
A man from a city in England (in all likelihood George Mottershead*) got lost looking for an address in the countryside where he might locate something he had been seeing in his dreams – a zoo without bars for distressed and unwanted animals.
To check his map he stopped his car in front of the gate he had come to, and he noticed that it bore the sign: “Announcing Foreclosure Auction.” The large house beyond the gate looked empty and dilapidated, and it seemed to sit on several acres of land.
This wasn’t the address he had been looking for, and he had absolutely no money anyway, but something about the dilapidated house and the land in front of him connected with his inner knowing that he was going to make a home for animals to live out their lives in an atmosphere of freedom and love.
He wrote down the address and the contact information from the sign, and the very next day he made an appointment at the bank. They initially balked at his proposal, which offered that if he was not able to repay the bank within one year they could keep the entire property and he would still continue to pay off the loan. He convinced them that making a reality of his vision of a zoo without bars was the right thing to do and he was committed to making it happen.
Something about the man’s passion and determination prevailed over the bankers’ “better judgment” and they loaned him the money he was asking for.
Money is not the primary consideration. If you look at a project from an inner knowing and resolution, the money becomes incidental, even a minor hurdle.
Your belief in your dream and its realization is paramount over money. The money involved is secondary to your personal conviction, your perseverance, your desire, your belief in yourself and in your ability to bring your dream to fruition.
Knowing that you will achieve something because it is the right thing to do is more important than the details involved in the achieving. How you do the thing is a matter of putting one possibly unknown foot in front of the other, one step at a time.
Money will follow when potential backers, without necessarily understanding you or why you are moved, are themselves moved by their feeling that you know where you are going, that you are determined with every bit of your being to get there, with or without their mere money.

I had no idea this was based on a true story until after I wrote it and pushed by Morris to find out. Magic! I love it.
