Friend of a friend
By Vic Midyett
Shirley has made it known at the church we attend that she paints pet portraits. She suggests that people whose pet's portrait she paints donate $20 to the church.
You remember the first one Shirley did, in May, of a lady's cat. Well, a friend of that lady's saw the cat portrait in her home and asked how she came by it. Upon hearing the answer, she immediately handed her a photo of her recently deceased dog and $20 for the church – before finding out whether Shirley would even be able to paint it.
Well, of course, Shirley did, and here it is. The church even provided the canvas board to paint it on. (The photo's a little out of focus.)
