There is a very old seaside cafe just north of us a bit that has had these table/ umbrella-stand things for years. I’ve always thought I needed to get a picture of one and share it for a giggle. I did one day last week and here it is!
They are this fairly posh-looking cafe’s way of letting the public know that it’s okay to come in and sit at a table in your swim suit. And the tats were added over the years to keep up with the times, I suppose.
I haven’t worked up the gumption to touch or rap on one to find out what they’re made of, but I presume fiberglass. Someone does a good job keeping them clean and shiny!

ReplyDeleteI have seen pictures of some similar to this that are Barstools. I am not sure where they are, but always thought they were cute. Cannot believe you are not brave enough to touch them...lol

Deleteha ha... no, I think I'll just leave them be. This world has gone so crazy I would probably be arrested and sent for psychiatric evaluation by someone who needs just that themselves.
