On Franklin Hill Farm: In the land of the great pastures (a poem)

With accompanying video

In the land of the great pastures
and fairy tale visions
of field flowers and blades of green
where mice and moles
and birds do play,

you will find a mystical creature
that awaits you one day.
In a cloak of red and what big teeth,
he will ask, “What are you doing out here, little girl?”

  1. Apologies to anyone who witnessed some on-and-off-and-on-again with this post today. Learning how to embed a video from Facebook in a "video box" in a blog post proved challenging. It involves something called a "code configurator," which, once sufficiently mastered, does provide a ready way to achieve the desired result (of embedding a Facebook video). For anyone interested in doing the same thing, you can find the Facebook configurator here.

  2. Cats are fun to watch because you never know what they are going to do--not sure they.

    1. True. I have one that is whimsical and playful and another that is plump and can hardly run - but does anyway. Very cute and always a good chuckle.

  3. Great writing. Brought memories. I felt saddened thinking he wouldn't get home. I once lived near the hills were my sixteen cats played in the high grass some went out but never came back.
