All Over the Place:
A coloring of mood

By Michael H. Brownstein

yesterday the sky witch blue
well lit
not a single cloud stain
the sun
bright yellow

and full of itself
but the shadows gray
the air I breathed gray
a solid grayness
in everything green
blue and yellow

today the sky a grimy washcloth
and a gray stained t-shirt
cloud stained
dimly lit
and full of a valley of thunder
but the shadows cool blue
the air I breath cool blue
a solid green blueness
in everything green
blue and yellow
