Haiku Lichen

By Moristotle

Does lichen like you?
This one does;
lichen likes you, Haiku.

¿Te gusta el liquen?
Este sí;
a líquen le gustas, Haiku.

Le lichen vous aime-t-il?
Celui-ci le fait;
lichen t'aime, Haïku.

Mag dich die Flechte?
Dieser tut es;
flechte mag dich, Haiku.

地衣類はあなたが好きですか?
これはやり
地衣類は君の俳句が好き

Are You like lichen?
Do You too – like lichen –
like haikus?

  1. I fashioned the first and concluding haikus while riding back to San Juan Bautista, California, from Palisades National Park on Friday, March 24. The Spanish, French, German, & Japanese versions are merely translations supplied by Google Translate. I did not attempt to mold each into fourteen syllables, and I could not anyway in the case of the Japanese.
        The lichened boulder in the photograph is still there, but the photo was taken two years earlier, during my first of so far two visits to the park.
